Three things installers will not tell you
Search for solar in India and almost every result is a company trying to sell you a system. Their calculators are advertising. Here are the parts they leave out.
1. Subsidy stops at 3 kW
You get ₹78,000 for a 3 kW system. You also get ₹78,000 for an 8 kW system. Every kilowatt after the third one is at full price. Nobody selling you a big system says this first.
2. Most homes do not need a battery
A battery nearly doubles your cost and gives you backup, not savings. If your area has decent power supply, skip it. Buy a battery because you want power during cuts, not because someone showed you a payback number.
3. Payback numbers are usually wrong
Most calculators take your first year saving and multiply by 25. That assumes electricity in 2050 costs the same as today. It will not. It also ignores that panels get weaker each year. We calculate all 25 years one by one and show you both answers.
